About The Veterans’ Project - Macrobert Arts Centre

Are you a Veteran?

Do you find it difficult to get out of the house?
Do you miss being with friends who share your experiences?
Do you miss having a challenge?
Do you find yourself low in confidence?
Would you benefit from having people really listen to you?

Then this project is for you.

Where: Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling University
When: Monday to Friday between 5th and 23rd February 2018, 11am-5pm
Who for: Any Veteran, and it is also open to spouses or partners

What is it?

You will work with a community drama Director, a Musician and a small group of volunteer actors. You will learn drama and music skills, with the focus on building your confidence, having fun, talking and listening, and socialising. You will work in a creative, safe and supportive – but also challenging - environment. The process helps to reduce anxiety and stress.

Over the three weeks you will create a short piece to be shared with an invited audience of friends and family. However, it must be stressed that no one has to perform.

No previous drama or musical experience is required

We will be holding an briefing session for the project on Thursday 18th January at Macrobert Arts Centre from 3pm-4pm.
