This event is being hosted by Stirling’s Institutional Athena SWAN Group to recognise International Women’s Day (IWD). Despite the strong and growing global movement of advocacy, activism and support for gender parity, much remains to be done. The annual IWD theme of Press for Progress emphasizes this. Celebrating the success, resilience and struggle of individual women is part of this recognition for us here at Stirling.
The presentations will be ‘Pecha Kucha style’ to show the diversity of our academic community of women and there will be time for questions and discussion with networking and refreshments provided afterwards. The event will be Chaired by Dr Tessa Parkes, Dean for Equality and Diversity and Chair of the Institutional Athena SWAN group.
Our presenters are Professor Maggie Cusack, Faculty Dean of Natural Sciences, Dr Jen Dickie, Lecturer in Environmental Geography, Dr Andrea Schapper, Lecturer in Politics, Dr Corinne Greasley-Adams, Research Fellow in Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Helen Cheyne, Professor of Midwifery and Dr Elaine Douglas, Research Fellow in Economics.
The event will run from 2.30 - 4pm, with networking and refreshments available from 4 - 5pm.
Venue: Lecture Theatre B4, University of Stirling
