About Talk by Prof David Mitchell

It's a movie night with a difference at Scotland's oldest purpose-built cinema! Head along to the Hippdrome cinema in Bo'ness to see what life was really like in one of the country’s toughest and yet most successful industries.

Address: Hippodrome
10 Hope Street
Bo'ness
EH51 0AA

Prof. David Mitchell, of Historic Environment Scotland, will be curating and presenting a programme of films around the theme of Iron from the NLS Moving Image Archive. This talk will offer a unique insight into the iron founding industry from one of the nation’s experts on the subject.

Scotland was at the forefront of iron working in Britain for many years and even today we can see the products of these foundries, from cast iron bandstands to railings. It was an industry that saw the production of objects of beauty, strength and practicality unlike anything we see today.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Talk by Prof David Mitchell are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
