In 2017 work began to create commemorative busts for two Scottish heroines after they emerged as the clear frontrunners from a public vote. Each of these women reflected the spirit of William Wallace through their commitment to liberty, their opposition to discrimination and inequality, and by the lengths at which they went to improve the lives of others. Join Zillah Jamieson, Stirling District Tourism’s Chair, to hear about the quest to recognise and honour Scotland’s Heroines, and hear from Graciela Ainsworth who created one of the stunning sculptures that will shortly be introduced into the Hall of Heroes in The National Wallace Monument.

Pre-booking is highly recommended as a limited number of tickets are available. To pre-book email info@nationalwallacemonument.com

All lectures will be held in Legends Coffee House at The National Wallace Monument.

Please note: events may be rescheduled (or cancelled) in the event of inclement weather or due to operational reasons.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Evening Lecture – The Quest for Scotland’s Heroines are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
