The annual Largs Viking Festival & Festival of Fire marks the 1263 Battle of Largs, the last mainland battle between the Scots and Norse. We won!!
Each year the living history Viking Village is open to the public so that they can get a glimpse of what life would have been like in a 13th Century Viking Village.
This year we are excited to extend the timeline to include “Scandinavian Scotland” (8th – 15th century), including the Strathleven Artizans, who will be representing King Alexander III of Scotland.
Come and talk to them about their way of life; learn about how they made their clothes, weapons, jewellery and food. Ask the Vikings about their religion, beliefs, homes, crafts, ships, their homeland and why they left it!
Saturday 7th September: Festival of Fire 2024
The highly anticipated Festival of fire begins with the Battle of Largs reenactment on Vikingar Putting green at approx 7.30pm, followed by a torch lit procession along Largs Bay and ends with the longboat burning and spectacular fireworks display at Aubrey.
Tickets for the Festival of Fire can be booked via www.ticketsource.co.uk
