This guided walk provide a nourishing and invigorating day out on one of Scotland's finest long-distance trails: beautiful landscapes, great company, and a warm drink at the end.
About this Skylark Guiding event:
We'll follow short sections of the John Muir Way and the West Highland Way between Strathblane and Killearn with the Campsie Fells providing an impressive backdrop.
The circular route will take us through ancient woods in full Autumn colours, and finish back in Strathblane where we can enjoy a hot drink by the log fire in the Kirkhouse Inn.

Duration: 5 hours
Ascent: a few short climbs, but nothing very steep
Distance: 14km/ 8.5 miles
Terrain: farm tracks and paths, some muddy.
What to expect:
A gentle walk with other women, lots of chat, fresh air, muddy boots, and a feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day.

About your guide:
The walk will be guided by experienced and qualified guide Gaby Macbeth of Skylark Guiding Ltd. Gaby will take care of route finding and navigation, managing the pace so that everyone is comfortable, and making sure everyone is safe. What to wear and bring:
Please wear comfortable walking shoes, leggings or gym trousers, a thermal layer or top, a fleece or jumper.
Wear or carry in a backpack bring a waterproof jacket (it doesn't need to be expensive but it needs to keep the rain out!), gloves, hat, a spare top (such as a fleece), plus food and drink, any medication and sanitary products.
If you have them you could also bring waterproof over trousers.
If you don’t have a piece of kit, please get in touch in advance and we’ll see if we have a spare you can borrow for the day.
Itinerary:
Meet at Strathblane (Kirkhouse Inn carpark, G63 9AA) at 10am for a 10.15am departure. (the X10/X10A from Buchanan bus station stops there)
The walk will take up to 5 hours, with breaks, and end at the start point for a hot drink (not included so as to give you the option).

Full price: £25.00 Reduced rate* £15.00. (Please note that hot drinks/food are not included.)
*To make this event more accessible to women currently on lower incomes there is the option to book a reduced rate ticket. You can choose what you pay based on your circumstances – you won’t be asked for any proof or ID.
