Small group of maximum 6 for lots of one to one time.
There is be a short indoor session first introducing different kinds of maps, identifying map symbols, and understanding contour lines.
We then spend the rest of the day outdoors to plan and implement simple routes. You'll learn how to:
- orientate the map using a compass,
- plan and implement simple routes,
- measure distance on the map and on the ground
- relate prominent landforms such as large hills and glens to the map
Who is this for?
This day is suitable for those who have not used maps and compasses before.
