Level: Intermediate – some enamel experience would be useful for this workshop.
In this workshop you will learn all about the exciting technique of enamelling with decals. You will learn how to fire the enamel in layers and use pre-made decals to transfer photographic or illustrative images onto the surface of your enamels. On the day you’ll make a selection of samples and will be given the option to transform them into a pair of earrings or a pendant. During this one day class you’ll also be provided the information you need to print your own digital enamel decals.
What to bring:
We’ll provide all the things you will need for the Enamel with Decals workshop including tools, copper blanks and decals. However, if you want to make a particularly large piece or additional pieces, extra copper and silver can be purchased directly from the school at cost price.
Please bring along glasses if you need them
Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a studio environment including closed-toe shoes. Why not treat yourself to a CSSJ branded apron to make you feel right at home?
If you have long hair please wear it up
Students will not be permitted to eat lunch in the studio due to health and safety issues relating to enamel powders. This means you will need to arrange to eat lunch at a cafe/ outdoors/ in your car etc. We can advise you of nearby places on the High Street for tasty treats.
If you are the type of person who prefers to arm yourself with some knowledge ahead of time then we have prepared a Pinterest board filled with enamel information and inspiration just for you!
All of our classes are held at Central Scotland School of Jewellery, Craft Central, High Street, Dunblane
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
