Join local artist Frances Ryan for a creative day long Gelli Plate Printing Workshop. We’ll learn how to mono-print using gel plates and explore the layering of colour and printed texture. We’ll explore cut and torn stencils, create textures and images using found objects, and play with image transfer using photographs from magazines. We’ll learn about what papers and paints work best so that you can carry on creating if you’re hooked on this magical image transfer technique (you will be!). You’ll leave the workshop with a collection of experimental papers that you can use in other crafting projects, such as bookbinding, card making or collage, and a set of beautiful unique prints perfect for framing or gifting. We have a vast collection of materials, textures and objects for you to use, but you are very welcome to bring in your own collection of found objects, papers to collage and print, magazines… whatever inspires you!
