Ready to breathe new life into your favorite garments and reduce textile waste?
Join our Visible Mending Workshop, where creativity meets sustainability. Led by the talented and eco-conscious Eilidh Weir, you’ll discover the art of “stitching, not ditching” while contributing to a greener planet. During the workshop, you’ll master essential mending techniques like darning, decorative and invisible repairs, and creative patching. You’ll also learn practical skills to extend the life of anything from cozy socks to cherished clothing—and even furniture.
This workshop is for absolutely anyone! Whether you’re a complete beginner or already handy with a needle, it’s perfect for anyone who believes in reducing waste and adding a personal touch to their belongings. Bring along your worn-out favorites—wool sweaters, beloved trousers, or other items you’d like to restore. If you don’t have anything to mend, no problem! We’ll provide samples so you can practice and leave equipped to tackle future mending projects with confidence.
By attending, you’ll not only support sustainability and reduce landfill waste but also save money while learning valuable, timeless skills that will last a lifetime. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to add a unique, creative flair to your items through decorative mending. No prior sewing or knitting experience is necessary—mending is for everyone!
Sign up today and join the movement to craft a sustainable future, one stitch at a time.
About Your Tutor
Eilidh Weir is an artist and designer who is best know as the founder of sustainable fashion brand All That Is Braw. Eilidh’s holistic approach to sustainable fashion starts with careful sourcing of her materials, which are sewn in house, by hand, right here in Central Scotland, and even mended and altered as required by Eilidh’s own fair hand. Taking a zero waste approach, she saves all the scraps from her successful garment making cottage industry, and uses them to create beautiful textile artworks that champion sustainability, inclusivity, and understanding across a broad range of issues including mental health awareness and support for the LGBTQ+ community. She is passionate about mending and reducing textile waste and is keen to share these skills far and wide.
