Members of the Jury: the case of Mr Ernest Ramsay will be examined throughout the evening. Then you must collectively determine his fate. Will you accept his defence? Will you find him innocent or guilty? The decision rests with you.
Join us for an exciting evening where we deliver our Criminal Law Series: The Guilty Act event!
Taking place on Saturday 7th December 2024 at 19:00 GMT, this in-person event is a must-attend for anyone interested or curious in understanding criminal law in Scotland.
In this talk, we promise Real Cases, Real Crimes, Real Scotland.
But what is a guilty act? What happens if you commit an offence by accident? Can alcohol or drugs ever excuse crime?
We will explore the 'guilty act' through looking at true crime cases which have shaped the law. You'll have the opportunity to gain an understanding of key aspects of criminal law in Scotland, ask questions, and engage in thought-provoking discussions with fellow attendees.
Recommended for 16+ due to mature themes and discussion on crimes.
Whether you are simply curious about the subject or love 'all things true crime', or you are a student, this event promises to be both informative and enjoyable. Join the other members of the jury -and let us see which way the scales of justice go for Mr Ernest Ramsay.
Light refreshments; teas and coffee are included in your admission.
We are delighted that the Stirling Smith Art Gallery & Museum will be hosting this event.
Doors open for the event at 6:45pm.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
