Suitable for adults and children aged 7+
In this one-hour workshop, you’ll make a 10cm x 10cm pixel mosaic tile on a wooden base. Choose from a range of design options, including a cactus, thistle, noob, robot, duck, smiling emoji – and more! Or you could even decide to create your own design on the day.
We’ll provide a template grid, onto which you’ll apply your chosen mosaic tiles. It’s simple, effective, therapeutic, and fun! Suitable for adults and children aged 7+. (Children need to have an adult present. You can enjoy a tea/coffee while you watch the creativity even if you don’t want to take part!)
We’ll provide hanging strips so that you can hang your mini artwork when you take it home.
This is also a great workshop for team building and private parties – if you’d like to book for a private event, contact Rhona at rhonaduffy@mosaicandglass.com

About your tutor:
Rhona Duffy creates a contemporary take on the ancient art form of mosaic, while also appreciating the classical rules. She enjoys pushing the boundaries of the Roman technique opus sectile (using larger pieces of material to produce a pattern). Her work is inspired by art nouveau, picassiette, music and nature. She uses mixed media, including glass tiles, stained glass, marble, smalti and bone china. Rhona’s work is an escape from the challenges of life and the issues facing us in today’s world – it’s an antidote to bring joy to both herself, as she creates, and its viewers. She has an arts degree in English and philosophy, and a master’s degree in journalism. She launched the international magazine Mosaic & Glass in 2022. In addition, she volunteers at her son’s school, introducing him and his classmates to mosaic and glass. Rhona also teaches regularly in Central Scotland, including at Wider Access to School Project in Denny – a charity providing subsidised higher education to adult learners in the local community. Originally from Dublin, Rhona has lived in Scotland for over 30 years.
