Beginners and improvers welcome
Dates: Wednesdays, 6.30pm-9pm, starting on 19 March 2025 for six weeks (no classes will take place on 9 or 16 April, which are during the school holiday period). The final class will be on 7 May.
Learn the essential techniques of cutting, layering, fusing and slumping glass to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. You’ll explore the properties of glass, experiment with colour and texture, learn how to cut glass, and design your own small projects, such as jewellery, drink stirrers, bookmarks, hanging decorations, tiles, or magnets. If you are new, you can learn the basics, making one project every week. If you’re an experience glass fuser, you might prefer to suggest your own project and we’ll guide you to complete it. You might even like to create your own inclusions for mosaic projects if you already create mosaic art.
We’ll work on a different project every week and you’ll finish the evening course with a range of pieces. This workshop offers a relaxed and creative environment to ignite your artistic side. Perfect for anyone curious about glass art, this course promises a fun and inspiring experience. It’s a relaxed atmosphere where, not only will you develop your warm glass skills, but you’ll also have an enjoyable time.
This course is suitable for complete beginners and more experienced fusers.
Important notes:
Course includes tuition, use of tools, materials, and tea/coffee/snacks.
All our workshops are suitable for over age 16s.

She explores subjects concerning psychology, nature and conservation through kiln-formed glass. In 2023, Una received a VACMA award to develop a collection inspired by the peat and bog ecosystem of Caithness and the wider flowlands landscape, which was exhibited at Artisan& in October 2023.
