Beginners and improvers welcome
Discover the captivating art of warm glass fusing in evening course with Una Galbraith. Learn the essential techniques of cutting, layering, fusing and slumping glass to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. You’ll explore the properties of glass, experiment with colour and texture, learn how to cut glass, and design your own small projects, such as jewellery, drink stirrers, bookmarks, hanging decorations, tiles, or magnets. If you are new, you can learn the basics, making one project every week. If you’re an experience glass fuser, you might prefer to suggest your own project and we’ll guide you to complete it. You might even like to create your own inclusions for mosaic projects if you already create mosaic art.
We’ll work on a different project every week and you’ll finish the evening course with a range of pieces. This workshop offers a relaxed and creative environment to ignite your artistic side. Perfect for anyone curious about glass art, this course promises a fun and inspiring experience. It’s a relaxed atmosphere where, not only will you develop your warm glass skills, but you’ll also have an enjoyable time.
This course is suitable for complete beginners and more experienced fusers.

Her journey as a glass maker began with a night class at The Glasgow School of Art in 2017 and she’s now a professional member of the Scottish Glass Society and Contemporary Glass Society. She explores subjects concerning psychology, nature and conservation through kiln-formed glass. In 2023, Una received a VACMA award to develop a collection inspired by the peat and bog ecosystem of Caithness and the wider flowlands landscape, which was exhibited at Artisan& in October 2023. She’s a regular exhibitor at Artisan& in Aberfeldy and is one of seven artists represented by Artisan& at Edinburgh Art Fair 2024.
