The day will explore the history and tradition of charcoal making, as well as doing a charcoal burn in a barrel, from loading the wood to lighting and managing the burn. We'll also look at our larger retort kilns, where you can get hands on with emptying, grading and bagging.
The workshop takes place over one day, running around 10am to 4pm, on our site in Stirlingshire. Tea, coffee and snacks are provided throughout the day but please bring your own lunch. You are welcome to cook over the fire.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
