Monday 10th February 10am to 12pm & 1.30pm to 3.30pm - Bows and Arrows

A weapon of choice for thousands of years, come and make a bow and arrows from wood found in our wild places. Then try a bit of target practice and see how good you are, before taking it home with you.

Tuesday 11th February 10am to 12pm & 1.30pm to 3.30pm - Whittling

Try your hand at whittling. The old skill of making things from sticks using just a small knife. You’ll be amazed at what you can create. All tools and instructions are provided and you will take home whatever you make.

Wednesday 12th February 10am to 12pm & 1.30pm to 3.30pm - Wildlife Discovery

Just out of sight and just round the corner are many of our wild creatures. Explore the woods and moors of Mugdock to discover some of these amazing wild things. The Ranger will provide all resources and help you identify all you find.

Monday 17th February 10am to 12pm & 1.30pm to 3.30pm - Shelters & Camouflage

Calling all active 8-12 year olds! Explore the natural world through a series of fun Ranger led activities on this 2-hour adventure. Discover the art of camouflage and how animals use it to their advantage, then build a shelter and blend into the woodland.

Tuesday 18th February 10am to 12pm & 1.30pm to 3.30pm - Animal Tracks & Signs

Calling all active 8-12 year olds! Explore the natural world through a series of fun Ranger led activities on this 2-hour adventure. Become an expert animal tracker as you look for signs and follow paw and hoof prints through the wild woodlands of Mugdock.

Wednesday 19th February 10am to 12pm & 1.30pm to 3.30pm - Crafting with Wood

Calling all active 8-12 year olds! Explore the natural world through a series of fun Ranger led activities on this 2-hour adventure both indoors and out. Discover nature’s artwork all around you then craft yourself something amazing with twigs and branches collected form the forest floor.


All events are suitable for children aged 8-12 years and no adults are required.
