Join jeweller, printmaker, and multi-media artist Jo Pudelko for an enlightening day of Sketchbooking for Creatives : Demystifying the Design Process through experimental sketching exercises. This one-day class will show you how to approach design for any discipline, harnessing your inspirations and influences, and working through an explorative and expressive development process to bring your designs to fruition. Whether you’re a jeweller, printmaker, multi-media artist, or simply someone curious about the design process, this workshop will guide you through experimental sketchbooking to spark your creativity and refine your ideas.
Working on paper we will start by examining your own personal interests and inspirations, then through processes of mark making, repetition, mirroring, collage and much more we’ll explore the limitless possibilities of translating your initial ideas into finished designs. We’ll work in sketchbooks that will form both a record of your process, and a sourcebook to build on for future projects, sketching ideas and creating quick samples. There is no need to be ‘good at art’ to enjoy the design process! In this workshop we encourage an open approach to making mistakes, and group participation will help you to loosen up and your creativity to flow more easily.
The goal of the day is to produce a body of thematically linked, considered design ideas to take through to your creative practice, whatever medium you choose to work in.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
