Formed in 2003 by brothers Joel and Ryan O’Keeffe, the band has carved out a distinctive niche in the rock music scene with their high-energy performances and no-nonsense rock ‘n’ roll sound.
The line-up is rounded out by Justin Street on bass and backing vocals, and Jarrad Morrice on rhythm guitar.
2007 saw band punch into the scene with the debut album, Runnin’ Wild, having been certified Silver in the UK, and charted in the top 30 of the ARIA Albums charts, appeared on the US Billboard 200; UK, France, Austria, and Switzerland Albums chart. Their second album, No Guts. No Glory. came out in March 2010 and reached top 20 in Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Finland, Greece, Sweden, and Switzerland, as well as going in at #31 in the UK and Top 100 of the US Billboard 200. Continuing their legendary impact, the third studio album, Black Dog Barking (2013) and peaked at #17 in Australia and came in top 20 in Austria, Finland, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, and Switzerland, as well as top 100 in the UK, Spain, Norway, and France. In October 2016, Airbourne released their fourth album, Breakin’ Outta Hell, which peaked top 5 in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland; #9 in the UK; and top 20 in Australia.
With a solid rockin’ catalogue of albums, Airbourne solidified their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the rock world, earning them commercial success with a critical acclaim nomination for “Album of the Year” at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards.
Known for their explosive live shows, Airbourne has earned a loyal following globally, having played an estimated 1100+ shows since the formation of the band, including multiple appearances at some of the biggest festivals in the world, including Wacken, Download, Hellfest, Rock am Ring, and Rock im Park. Their relentless touring schedule has seen them share stages with rock giants like Iron Maiden, Motörhead, and The Rolling Stones.
In 2017, Airbourne was honoured with the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award for “Best Live Band,” a testament to their reputation for delivering electrifying performances. Their dedication to the rock ethos and relentless touring have cemented their status as modern torchbearers of classic rock.
