Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s greatest stone castles and an icon of Scottish history, is set to bring works by Jane Austen and Mendelssohn to life as it plays host to a programme of captivating evening events this July.

Visitors are invited to enjoy magical open-air performances in the Queen Anne Gardens at Stirling Castle, with two performances from the Chapterhouse Theatre Company next month.

On Tuesday 9 July, step back in time over two hundred years as Jane Austen’s renowned characters are brought to life in a performance of her greatest work, Pride and Prejudice. And on Friday 19 July, visitors can also witness a brand-new telling of a classic fairy tale with Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s rollicking new adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, with lively original music and sparkling humour.

Alongside these mesmerising theatre performances, there will also be the chance to experience a performance from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra who are returning to Stirling on Thursday 25 July for an enchanting concert in the Great Hall at Stirling Castle, including Mendelssohn’s iconic Violin Concerto.
