STIRLING’S HAVING A BIG BIRTHDAY BASH AND EVERYONE’S INVITED!
After a two-year break, the event will return on Saturday 24 August bringing together the local community and visitors to enjoy a big birthday bash filled with the best food and drink the region has to offer.
The festival will run from 10am to 5pm at Forthside Way (opposite The Engine Shed) and will feature over 60 businesses from stalls and pop-ups to food trucks and bars.
This year's event, organised by Forth Valley Food and Drink in conjunction with SHS Events, will play a key part in celebrating Stirling’s historic milestone.
“We’re thrilled to bring back Forth Valley Food & Drink Festival as part of Stirling’s 900th anniversary celebrations,” said Stacey Spence, Forth Valley Food and Drink Network Coordinator. “No birthday celebration is complete without great food and drink, and this festival is the perfect way to showcase the rich culinary heritage of our region. It’s free to attend and everyone’s invited!”
Festival-goers can look forward to indulging in a range of treats from local fudge and freshly baked cakes to an array of international street food. They’ll also be able to sample local gins, learn about foraging, enjoy beer tastings, sip summer cocktails and take home a host of local produce.
There’ll also be cooking demonstrations from some of the region's top chefs, providing cooking tips and inspiration to try out at home. With family-friendly activities such as face painting and fun games to get the party started.
Newly opened Stirling restaurant Kahani Indian Street Food is excited to participate in the festival for the first time. “We’re delighted to be given this opportunity to showcase our flavourful curries and grills,” said Kahani manager Debashis Pal. “It’s a fantastic platform for us to connect with the local community and visitors.”
Local food and drink businesses interested in participating in the festival are invited to contact: hello@forthvalleyfoodanddrink.org as soon as possible, as pitches are filling up fast.
