Pioneering Scottish Filmmakers Coming Home for UK Premiere
The groundbreaking dance documentary Unbound will have its UK premiere at the Central Scotland Doc Fest this autumn at Macrobert Arts Centre.

The Barcelona-based story was only made possible by a group of young Scottish filmmakers.
Emerging talents Caitlin MacNeil Alexander and Carl McPherson were selected to join OTOXO Productions in the Catalan capital as part of a unique training programme that brings young filmmakers from around the world together to produce feature documentaries for the global market.
The film, which follows a group of ballet school abuse survivors who set up their own dance company to fight for justice, has already premiered at DocsBarcelona and secured a global distribution deal with Journeyman Pictures. Now, these Scottish filmmakers will screen their work back home for the first time.
And, the Caledonian-Catalan connections don’t stop there—OTOXO Productions co-founder and co-director of the film, John English, hails from Inverness, while another crew member, Jenny Dinwoodie, was a student at Edinburgh University when she earned a spot on the same programme. She even cycled 1,500 miles from Edinburgh to Barcelona to begin production.
OTOXO Director John English commented: “It’s always rewarding to bring talent from all over the world to work on our films, but on a personal level, it’s especially fulfilling to take this film home and showcase so much new Scottish talent at the same time.”
The film will screen at The Macrobert Arts Centre on Saturday, 2nd of November. Tickets are on sale now.
