A BIRD’S EYE VIEW ON HATE CRIME

We are proud to launch "A Birds Eye View on Hate Crime": Forth Valley Hate Crime Awareness Campaign, a project led by LGBTQIA+ volunteers through our Lavender Lives (funded by Youthlink Arts Fund) and Jasmine Journeys (funded by Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund) projects.

The campaign was developed following findings from our Hate Crime Awareness Survey, which gathered over 100 responses from community members about their experiences of hate. Working with local artist David Galletly, supported by LGBT Youth Scotland, and guided by our Community Development Manager and Volunteer Youth Workers, the volunteer group created an animated campaign that explores not just how to report hate crime, but also where hate comes from, and how we can all help prevent it.

This powerful story, told through animation featuring birds, shows that it is never too late to challenge bias, change behaviour, and embrace diversity. The message is clear: every one of us has the power to make a difference.

Come and be part of the launch. Learn more about the creative process, the voices behind the project, and our collective vision for safer, kinder, more resilient communities.

Free event. Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
